About

Backpackerbucks.com is the brainchild of Jay Holliday. Jay has always liked an adventure. He works to make enough money to go traveling – then he’s off.

He’s seen more of the world than most people and he has figured out all sorts of ways to stretch a buck while finding lots of really cool place to see and things to do.

Jay also has a big heart. In his travels he has seen a lot of hardship – starvation, homelessness, poverty, orphans, AIDS, political unrest – you name it.

Reflecting of all of this, Jay came up with a concept that would allow him and a lot of like-minded people to help live out their dreams.

Jay is assembling an ever growing collection of listing of places and activities that are of interest to backpackers and discount travellers throughout the world. A discount travel card was created whereby travellers got discounts, merchants got more customers, and best of all, funds are raised for charities. First on Jay’s list was orphanages and therefore the partnership with www.Orphund.org

Jay is assembling a group of travellers throughout the world who are helping to expand the reach of the site and seek out great deals.

The idea is that most of the profits from the sale of the cards will go to the charities and eventually the site will make some money from paid advertisers. It’s a good concept and a good cause – please support www.backpackerbucks.com by telling your friends and asking every place you go to if they take the card. The more merchants offering discounts, the better off everyone becomes.

Save money, save kids.
